Ok I am not sure it gets much cuter than this. Nevaeh is 5 weeks old. 5 weeks! Look at that smile! I truly enjoyed photographing this family. Welcome to the world Nevaeh! You are a loved little girl!
Falon is THREE!! She has grown so much this past 6 months and is becoming quite independent. Some fun things about Falon: She loves the color brown-colors everything in only brown. Still loves books and I often find her reading them and making up words to the pages. Loves her baby brother. She squeezes his cheeks and says "oh you little cutie guy". Can be pretty darn silly and fun. In preschool two days a week. Her imagination has taken off. She will say "Look a penguin and point to the couch". And Brant will go and "pick" it up and they will have a long conversation with it. She skied for the first time and she actually did really well. Says she loves us all the time! She loves family hugs. She is constantly bringing you two stuffed animals and handing you one to have them talk to each other. Dad is much better at this. If you ask her how old she is she will still say 6. She won't talk on the phone. To the dismay of many out of town folks. When she is protesting something she doesn't want to do she yells out AWFUL!! She loves to dance and even more when her dad plays guitar. She comes running with a tutu when she hears his guitar. She's really into tents and making them with blankets. She still loves blankets and is always covering her babies. She has such a soft heart. On our way back from a trip David Gray's "This Years Love" was playing. We heard some sniffling from the backseat and I turned around and she had these huge crocodile tears streaming down her face. She said the song was sad.
Can't wait to see what this year brings for her. Happy 3rd Falon! We love you!!
12.21.2011 6 months.
6 months has been a huge turning point for this guy.
One day he just fell into place. He smiles ALL the time.
He gets so excited just looking at you he scrunches his whole body up and puts both hands in his mouth.
And he LOVES to try and eat paper.

I got to take pictures of Batman, I mean Henry this past weekend on a really cold morning.
He played me some songs on his harmonica and put all his heart and soul into it.
He showed me some of his best Batman moves, his new shoes and of course his sparkling blue eyes.
Spending the morning with him made me excited for things to come with my little guy.

"You think that true love is the only thing that can crush your heart; that will take your life and light it up or destroy it. Then you become a mother." -Meridith from Grey's Anatomy.
When I learned about Megan's baby on facebook I instantly wanted to run to her. To be by her side and comfort her as a friend, and as a mother. She went in for her 33 week appt. and told the doctor she hadn't felt the baby move for a while. The ultrasound revealed that her little girl had stopped growing at 29 weeks and there was no amniotic fluid surrounding her. Hours later Piper Marie was born a little over 3lbs.
You can only imagine what it must have been like. The moment they found out , the realization they were going to have a baby that day.The firsts. The first cry, the first touch. I watched facebook like it was the news. Waiting for updates, cheering her on from behind my computer screen when I would read she made progress.
Megan and I went to the same high school and spent a lot of time together. Different paths grew us apart and it had been probably 10 years since I had seen her. I went to see her on a Saturday morning. I was waiting for her and she called me. She started laughing and told me she was going to be late, she had opened a can of paint and was stirring it and the stick broke and paint went everywhere. The past 10 years seemed like less of a gap listening to how little had changed. Her carefree happy voice lingered as I hung up the phone. I walked into the NICU and found Piper under 13. I had never seen something so small. I soaked it all in. The noises, the beeping. The crying of other babies. The purple light radiating from the incubators. The nurses shuffling back and forth.
You try to imagine ever detail and moment the family has gone through. I wanted to capture those details that will soon be forgotten by chubby thighs and belly laughs.
Here's Piper.
I have known Anna since she was 6 months old and she is growing into such a beautiful girl!I rented a tilt shift lens and fell in love with it. It shifts everything and gives you so much more depth.
A mini hike we took last weekend. Beautiful day full of sunshine and falling leaves.
Lots of jumping off logs and searching for bugs.
THE BEST PART WAS WHEN HE WOKE UP AND SAID HE WANTED TO DO IT AGAIN. THIS KID WILL MAKE YOU SMILE WITHOUT EVEN TRYING.
Three people who make the world a better place

There is a quote that says the days are long and the years are short. I find that to be true but lately my days have been short too. Another weekend come and gone. We welcomed a baby boy into our family 4 months ago. There have been big transitions for all of us. My only child became a big sister and learned she has to share the center of our universe with someone else. She did this with ease and has taken the role of being an older sibling serious. She never runs short of hugs for him and always wants to make sure he is going where we go. We constantly are being told to live more simply, live in the now. The lady in the grocery store reminding you how fast it goes as she kisses your babie's hand. As these days fly by there is little time for reflection. Days run together and then something happens, you are caught off guard. One cute thing she does is exchanged for another. She no longer hides from her dad when he comes home . Nothing they do is forever. She will be three soon and I wanted to capture her as she is now. I truly enjoy my days with this little girl.
